Marbella Classic Grand Prix Postponed Until November

The organizers of the Marbella Classic Grand Prix have announced that the event will be postponed until November: “the Marbella Classic Grand Prix will not be able to go ahead as planned on 8th June due to a number of technical issues which the organizers are unable to resolve in time and feedback from the classic car community regarding the time of year and the format. The organizers are still 100% committed to bringing the event to Marbella, but have decided to postpone to November 2014 in order to ensure an event of the highest quality.”

In replacement of the race, the organizers have confirmed a classic car show and demonstration in Puerto Banus on June 8th. This free event will introduce classic car owners and the public to the concept of a regularity rally and bring together these beautiful cars in the iconic Antonio Banderas square in preparation for the Classic Grand Prix in November.

Classic car owners and the general public are invited at 16.00 to gather in Calle Jose Saramago, alongside Plaza Antonio Banderas. The concept of a regularity rally will be explained, classic car owners can meet and everyone can admire these stunning cars.

Drivers will be presented with a very simple roadbook for a 5km route which will start and finish in the square and will be timed according to the principles of the regularity rally. This will be a fun and relaxed event, so drivers can time on their phones, or stopwatches, whatever they prefer and there will be a special stage requiring split second accuracy to demonstrate the different phases of the rally.

Visitors can enjoy the cars and the summer market in the square and soak in the atmosphere whilst learning about the concept of these type of rallies, the most famous being the Mille Miglia in Italy.
