The Polo House Marbella is undergoing a change – and what a change. Welcome Chowka Restaurant, the new Indian Tapas Restaurant in Marbella.
“Chowka is a casual tapas style concept, designed to encourage healthy and sociable sharing of dishes and the sampling of many flavours” reads the menu section on their new website.
“This idea is followed trough in the design of the restaurant with its 6 metre butchers table. The menu is divided by the traditional kitchen equipment used in their preparation: Kadai (fryer), Sigri (charcoal grill), Tandoor (Clay Oven) and Mother’s kitchen (generally cooked on naked flame).”
At the hands of Chef Ravi Deulkar, Chowka promises to bring some new taste to town.
Ravi Deulkar is a rising star in the Modern Indian food movement. This movement differentiates itself from traditional Indian restaurants which, until recently have always followed similar lines and menu content (Chicken Tikka Massala etc).
He predominantly uses coastal ingredients and local seasonal produce.
Ravi’s recent career has seen him leading the brigade at Rasoi the critically acclaimed Michelin Starred and multi award winning restaurant, and more recently the head chef of Trishna (2 AA Rosette and recent Michelin star recipient).
